Samples: Gucci Guilty Black for her

So as I have said in my previous samples posts, I have been sending off for and receiving numerous samples over the past few weeks. This has included a number of various perfume samples from Gucci. Today I will be reviewing the fragrance Gucci Guilty Black for women.

Apparently it comes in a bottle like the one in this picture, however mine came in little sample booklet.
I think that this is a really clever idea. Within this booklet there is four different fragrances, including Gucci Guilty Black for him, Gucci Guilty for her and Gucci Guilty for him.
You have to peel away the sticker to get to the fragrance, which is inside. The small piece of cotton wool stuff is what the fragrance is on and you can take it out to apply it to your skin.
I really like this perfume and would definitely consider buying myself a bottle of it. The booklet says that it is 'darkly hypnotic oriental floral', which I think sums it up nicely. It is really feminine, although i will be testing the version for men to compare. So overall Gucci Guilty Black for women in a really nice and sensual fragrance which I recommend having a sniff of if you are ever near a perfume shop.

Just a quick one from me today, just to let you know about these samples i have been getting over the past few weeks. So, since my last post on samples, I have received in the post seventeen different samples, varying from teabags to moisturiser. I must say it was exciting getting these through the post, shows how interesting my life really is. so over the next few weeks I shall be trying these all out and reviewing in them on this blog, hopefully.

Review: Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

So this post has been a long time in coming, I have owned this mascara for about a month now, or maybe even longer and just haven't got round to actually reviewing it. I have completely mixed feelings about this mascara. I had heard loads about it and the YouTube beauty guru Tanya Burr is constantly raving about how brilliant it is, but I just don't seem to see it. It is definitely not my favourite mascara and I probably would not buy it again. As you probably already know this is the packaging that this mascara comes in and the wand has a slight curve to it.

So this is my eye before I put mascara on. I might put at the bottom of the post what eye shadow I am wearing in the picture. I was wearing a blue dress, so I chose the eye shadow to match.
This is how my eye looks with the mascara on, its a bit weird that my contact lenses are visable. However it does take a bit of practice and effort to get your lashes to separate as much as this, because I found when I first began using it, my lashes clumped together quite a lot. I think it is mainly because the mascara itself is quite wet and almost runny, which makes it harder to apply.

Overall I think that I prefer Collection 2000's Pump up the Volume, which I have in the waterproof version, although it is harder to get off at night (probably because it is waterproof) I much prefer the bigger wand and the thicker formulation. I used this mascara in my golden eye make-up look blog post.
So, as promised, here is the eye shadow I am wearing in the photos. The palette itself is form Autograph, M&S, not sure if is has a proper name and was featured in my Christmas gifts blog post. It is the blue one that the purple arrow is pointing to in the left side of the palette. I only occasionally get to wear it because I don't own many blue outfits that would go with it. The only problem is with this eye shadow is that is doesn't have much staying power and easily came off when I attempted to rub the swatch off.

Gel Nails: The Review

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/6457755/?claim=rrn798zjgmt">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

As you may already know, a couple of weeks ago gels put on my nails and then painted bright red. I must say that I got on really well with them. Taking my contact lenses out was a bit of a conundrum to begin with, but you get used to dealing with things like that, just like when you wear false nails. So yesterday I went back to the nail salon to have them filled in and the colour changed. I think that usually you can leave it a few weeks longer, however my nails grow really quite quickly so I was already getting quite a big gap in between the gels and my nail beds, which was particularly obvious because the rest of my nail was red. In that time I did manage to break one nail, snapping off the extension and half of the gel, however I was not really being very sensible and it was my fault. My mother also got a crack in one of hers, but she shut her finger in the door. What I am trying to say is that I believe that in normal circumstances they would have been really durable.

Overall, I really like my nails and would recommend them. However on the nail I did break off, my actual nail was really thin, so I don't want to think about how they will be when I have them all taken off.

So anyway I had them re-painted, but I chose white tips instead. I'm not sure what I prefer at the moment, I think that if the white strip was a bit thinner I would like it better because they would look more natural, which was what I was aiming for this time around. Anyway, let me know what you think.
